The Reverend Allison Dean was born in Nassau and grew up in St. Agnes Anglican Church, Grant’s Town. She was actively involved in many areas of the church’s life at St. Agnes, most notably in the music and communications ministries. As part of the communications team, Rev. Allison was responsible for the editing and uploading of recordings of Sunday morning services to the church’s website. Rev. Allison served as Associate Organist at St. Agnes for several years and as Choir Director and Assistant Organist at St. Mary the Virgin for one year. She also provided part-time organist services at Holy Cross and St. Matthew’s prior to ordination. At the Diocesan level, she was active on various Diocesan Youth Department committees.
Rev. Allison holds a BBA in Economics and Finance from The College of The Bahamas, a BA in Music from Acadia University, NS, Canada, an MDiv from Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, and a DipEd (Secondary) from the University of The Bahamas. Additionally, she is a registered coach with Bahamas Aquatics, and certified by the American Swim Coach Association and FINA (world governing body of swimming).
After returning from seminary in 2017, Rev. Allison began teaching courses in Anglicanism and Liturgy and Worship for the Anglican Theological Institute (ATI). Rev. Allison was ordained a deacon on November 1st, 2020, in St. Agnes Church. She was ordained a priest in Christ Church Cathedral on November 1st, 2021. At the time of her ordination to the Diaconate, Rev. Allison was assigned to St. Barnabas in Nassau. In 2023 she was made Rector of St. Luke’s Parish in South Eleuthera. In addition to her clerical duties, Rev. Allison is a member of the Diocesan Family Violence Think Tank
