Cameron Saunders was born in Freeport, Grand Bahama to Colin and Revon Saunders. His father was to be ordained to Holy Orders a few years following his birth. Deacon Saunders began his education at Victoria Public School in London, Ontario, and later continued his studies in The Bahamas at Governor’s Harbour All-Age School in Eleuthera, and St. John’s College in Stapledon, New Providence, where he completed his primary and secondary education.
In 2011, Deacon Saunders earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the College of The Bahamas. He went on to pursue a Master’s in Divinity at Huron University College in London, Ontario, Canada, which he completed in 2021.
Before being ordained to Holy Orders, Deacon Saunders worked as a Deputy Park Warden for the Bahamas National Trust, stationed on New Providence for seven years. He then went on to serve as a layman at the Parish of St. Ambrose on New Providence, where he enjoyed ministry as a member of the Guild of St. Ambrose, a Scout Leader, CYM Advisor, Sunday School Teacher, and appointed Vestry member.
Deacon Saunders is married to Vashti Saunders (née Walker) and is the father of Cameron II and newborn Brooklyn. In his free time, Deacon Saunders enjoys gardening, cooking, grilling, soccer, and a bit of auto-mechanics.
As a Deacon, Cameron Saunders is dedicated to serving his community and spreading the message of love and hope. He is committed to using his skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him. His kind and compassionate approach to ministry has made him a respected and valued member of the church community.
