Rev. Marie Roach-Hepburn is a Lecturer and a part of the Administration of the Anglican Theological Institute where she teaches Christian Spirituality, Apologetics and Evangelism.
Rev.d. Roach-Hepburn received her secondary education at St. John’s College, Nassau, Bahamas and St. Elphin’s School for Girls in Derbyshire, England. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from The College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph Minnesota, USA. Rev. Roach-Hepburn read for a Master’s Degree of Education in Curriculum Development and Education in Developing Countries at the University of London, Institute of Education, England.
Rev. Roach-Hepburn worked in the field of Education with the Anglican Central Education Authority of the Bahamas for over twenty-five years. As Director of Education for the ACEA she was afforded the opportunity to conduct numerous workshops for many educational organizations. In 2005 she took a sabbatical from her position with the ACEA to study theology focussing on Evangelism and Apologetics at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, England. At Wycliffe Hall she also studied for the Oxford Diploma in Ministries. It was on a mission trip in Northern England when studying at Wycliffe Hall that she answered the call to the ordained ministry.
Rev. Roach-Hepburn was ordained to the Deaconate on July 11th 2007 on the Feast of St. Benedict and to the priesthood on August 25th 2008 on the Feast of St. Bartholomew in the Diocese of the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
As an Ordained Minister Rev. Roach-Hepburn has had the opportunity to share God’s word throughout the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and several cities in the United States. She conducts retreats, and seminars and gives talks on various aspects of Christian Spirituality, Spiritual Direction, Christian Education and Formation. She has been involved in missions to Trinidad, Jamaica, India, and several parts of England. Rev. Roach-Hepburn served on the Standing Committee for the Church in the Province of the West Indies.
Rev. Roach-Hepburn loves taking photos of God’s creations, gardening, reading, listening to music, and travelling. She is married to Theron Hepburn.
