
Ordination to the Priesthood: Cameron Saunders
The Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands will ordain Deacon Cameron Simeon Adriel Saunders to the Sacred Priesthood, God-willing, on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023 at 7 pm., in Christ Church Cathedral, being the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Cameron Saunders is the son of Revon Saunders, nee Smith, and Fr. Colin Saunders. He is a 2005 graduate of St. John’s College, N.P., and a 2011 graduate of the then College of The Bahamas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He was an active member of St. Ambrose Parish, N.P. He worked as a Park Warden with the Bahamas National Trust for seven years before testing his vocation to the priesthood at Huron College, University of Western Ontario, Canada.
He was ordained deacon on 18th October 2021, being the feast of St. Luke, Apostle, Evangelist and Martyr. He has worked as Assistant Curate at Holy Cross Parish and Christ the King Parish, both in New Providence.
His interests are environmental stewardship, Christian formation and pastoral care. He is married to Vashti Saunders, nee Walker, a registered nurse, and the couple has two children.
