Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday is a Christian holiday observed by the Anglican Church and other denominations, typically on the day before Ash Wednesday. It is a day of reflection and penance before the start of the Lenten season. The name “Shrove Tuesday” comes from the custom of “shriving,” or confessing one’s sins to a priest in preparation for Lent.
